COVID-19 reinfection among health care workers in a tertiary care center in north Kerala: a descriptive study

Background: Reinfection rates due to Covid-19 is on a rise. Prevention, identification, and management of these patients will be essential reduce morbidity mortality. Objective this study was determine the proportion SARS COV-2 reinfection among health care workers, meantime interval between primary infection compare symptomatology during Primary reinfection. Methods: A descriptive conducted healthcare workers who tested positive for COVID-19 from 1st July 2020 31st October 2021 which accounted 704, 36 met criteria Details collected regional PEID cell data base. Data subjects using telephonic interviews. analyzed SPPSS Version 21. Results: Out 704 subjects, (5.11%) Mean age 29.6±9.7 years. Of cases reinfection, 36.1% were asymptomatic compared 2.8% second one. Cough fever present in 41.7% 83.3% respectively 11.1% 33.3% infection. time 244.6±75.6 days. During period 4 (11.1%) had symptoms. Conclusions: possible individuals with COVID-19. can symptomatically more severe. So regardless history all must strictly adhere Covid protocol.
